SAT Testing
The SAT is a test taken prior to applying for college. The test evaluates your skill level in math, English and reading. These scores are sent to a college, along with your application. Almost all four year universities require either SAT or ACT scores. Students are encouraged to take either the SAT or ACT in the winter or spring of their Junior year. This gives you the option to retake the test if you are not happy with your scores.
As of March 2016, the SAT changed the test and scoring methods. To learn more about the change, visit the SAT website.

The SAT test does not have the same emphasis on math and science that the ACT does. The SAT does not have a science section and only test math skills up to Algebra 2. The SAT is broken up into more sections than the ACT. Instead of doing one subject for a longer period of time, the SAT breaks up subjects by blending them together for each section. The SAT also has a stronger emphasis on vocabulary.
